Modern History
Frame Colour: Custom Black
Glazing: Low-e Double glazed
This sprawling estate in The Hills district of Sydney, New South Wales pairs classical heritage stonework with modern Australian touches such as cascading walls of glass. Custom Black frames flatter contrasting building elements ranging from natural blockwork to standing seam roofing.
In a nod to the building’s traditional European feel, French Doors are featured heavily throughout the masonry walled areas. Meanwhile, Stacker Doors open living spaces to the outside. Clerestory Fixed Lite Windows sit directly above these wide doors to pull an abundance of natural light. In a thoughtful detail, their raked form mirrors the distinctive angled roof line.
Naturally, such large areas of glass required the use of low-e double glazing to meet comfort and energy requirements.
