A wide range of Rylock products are designed to accommodate subsill drainage systems.
In response to evolving Australian architectural trends where homes enjoy an effortless transition between indoors and outdoors, the demand for products that feature a rebated sill for a ‘zero threshold’ installation has increased.
Rylock’s Commercial Series Fixed Lite Windows, Sliding, Stacker and Corner Door products feature a 50mm sill which can be rebated to achieve this luxurious design trend. Where a water permeable external surface (like a deck) is featured, the installation of Rylock doors is quite straightforward, however, where concrete or paving is required, greater complexity is involved.
When is a subsill drain required?
For concrete or paving exterior solutions, a subsill drainage system must be positioned in place prior to your Rylock door being installed. This involves a subsill drain being placed below the floor surface to collect water and channel it into an exterior drain so excess water cannot pool at the product – helping to maintain the home’s structural integrity.
