Since 2016, Rylock has supplied windows and doors to more than 200 homes within Carter Grange’s dual occupancy portfolio in Victoria. This particular project is one example of this proud partnership – a development in bayside Melbourne that combines sharp modernism with delicate vertical timber cladding.

While the project includes mostly double glazed windows, the striking corner Butt Joint Windows to the façade are single glazed for an architectural touch. Products are supplied in Custom Black powder coat with silver hardware on all the doors and black hardware on all windows.

A balance between form and function defines this project. Substantial profiled aluminium frames marry commercial aesthetics with the practicality of a residential product. Furthering the theme of contrasts, the Custom Black finish stands out against a palette of stark white and natural timber.

In the kitchen, a horizontal Fixed Lite Window cleverly takes the place of a splashback to welcome natural light into the space. Where required, obscure glazing has been carefully specified to offer privacy for both occupants and neighbours.

Wide Stacker Doors are used to full effect to treat those inside to views of the external landscape. What’s more, large Awning sashes provide controlled ventilation throughout the seasons.
