The most vital aspect of correct function – is correct installation.
Well considered window and door installation practices are amongst the most essential in housing construction. It is recommended that the manufacturer’s specification is always followed as improper installation can lead to air infiltration, moisture and poor overall performance.
Pre-installation care.
Windows should be placed in a clean, dry location and stored in a vertical position with sashes locked. The frames must remain square whilst prevention towards moisture exposure (particularly pooling and ponding) considered.
Remember: All products have unique design characteristics, such as method of fabrication and assembly, hardware, sash operation and recommended maintenance. These factors, along with the construction wall type dictate how the product is required to be installed to meet its performance requirements.
